Wrest Park Outing

Wrest Park Outing 25th April 2022 8 members went to the English Heritage location. 90 acres of gardens and woodland. The French mansion of Thomas de Grey whose family lived on the estate for over 600 years. The garden was designed to Lancelot “Capability” Brown’s design. There were 40 statues. The French Parterre gardens were near the mansion, then a walk to Long Water and the Archer Pavilion.

The weather was better than we thought, the sun came out. Then lunch at 1.00 pm and the rain came on.

Gardens, ponds, lakes, statues, muntjac deer, pheasants, swans and a great outing.

Best wishes,
