
About Us




Our photography club has an extensive programme including presentations from top class photographers covering all genres as well as club competitions throughout the season which runs from September to June.
All competitions are appraised by a suitably qualified judge who will give helpful critique of each image.
We have regular club day outings, usually once a month, as well as a small number of extended 4-5 day trips to locations further afield such as the Lake District.
Come along to our club evenings and be ensured of a friendly welcome. We meet on a Tuesday evening at 20:00-22:00 in the Chantry Centre just off Billericay high street.

31st Mar - 'The Essex Project ' by Justin Minns FRPS Justin's presentation takes a look at how the vague idea of a project to photograph the quieter parts of the Essex coast snowballed into the subject of two books and an FRPS panel

21st Apr - Print Competition No. 5. 'Bill's Choice' ** NEW WORK ONLY PLEASE Judged by Tony Bramley FRPS
28th Apr - 'Smartphone Photography' by Jet Lendon. Jet (Jeanette) will talk about how she went from running her own photography business for 14 years to concentrating entirely on smartphone photography and will tell us how to get the best from our smartphones.
5th May - DPI* Competition No.5. 'Bill's Choice'** NEW WORK ONLY PLEASE Judged by Alison Jenkins ARPS DPAGB CPAGB/AV BPE1*
12th May - 'Adventures in Madagascar' by Chrissie Hart ARPS DPAGB. A collection of images from Chrissie's travels to Madagascar including people and wildlife of the 4th largest island in the world. This is a digital presentation with some prints for display in the break.
19th May - Print Competition No. 6. Judged by David Steel DPAGB
26th May - 'Patagonia and Penguins' by Robert Harvey BA ARPS EFIAP Csci Cenv MCIWEM. Zoom Presentation Journey to the tip of South America through awe-inspiring landscapes of volcanoes, fjords and glaciers in search of guanacos, flamingos and pumas. In the second half discover the extraordinary wildlife of the Falkland Islands such as elephant seals, albatrosses and penguins. This is nature at the end of the earth.
2nd June - An evening for club members, may include tuition, presentations, discussions or workshops.
