Ten club members travelled by train to Paddington to enjoy a day of photography, exploring the station itself, Paddington Basin and Little Venice, all conveniently within walking distance of one another.

As usual, we split into smaller groups and set off to explore the area, each pursuing our own photographic interests before regrouping for lunch at the large Wetherspoons pub overlooking the Basin.

The location proved to be a rich source of photographic opportunities, as demonstrated by the competition entries included in this report. A quick glance reveals an impressive variety of genres and styles, including:

  • Architecture

  • Street Photography

  • Landscape

  • Abstract

  • Monochrome

  • Intentional Camera Movement (ICM)

  • Nature

  • Portraiture

The diversity of the images highlights just how much photographic potential can be found in a relatively small area. From the striking architecture of the station to the waterside scenery of the Basin and the charm of Little Venice, there was something to inspire everyone.

Can you spot any other genres or photographic techniques represented in the entries?
