Photofold Greenwich Trip – Thursday 22nd January 2026
Thirteen intrepid club members braved the overcast, decidedly doom-laden skies and boarded trains from various points along the Liverpool Street line. After regrouping at Stratford, we continued our journey via the DLR to Greenwich.
A welcome stop for coffee at a popular local café set us up for the day, after which we split into smaller groups to explore the many photographic opportunities on offer, including:
The Royal Naval College
The panoramic view across Greenwich from the top of the hill
The surprisingly photogenic old foot tunnel beneath the Thames
The Queen’s House and its famous Tulip Staircase
The National Maritime Museum
At 1.30pm we reconvened for lunch at Bill’s, where a large table awaited us in this excellent local restaurant. Over the next hour and a half, conversation flowed freely as we shared stories from the morning’s adventures and collectively lamented the increasingly inclement weather.
Refuelled, we set off once more to continue exploring Greenwich, while some members ventured further afield to photograph the light installations in Docklands. A lucky few were even rewarded with the brief appearance of a rainbow.
The weather may not have been ideal, but we invite you to judge for yourself whether our images succeeded in making the most of the conditions.
